Very well done

Fascinating and well written account. Half of it historical/sociological background and analysis, half of it about shooting at Russians. Paul is no regular correspondent, he was a mujahedeen himself, all the way to pulling the triggers on the Kalashnikov.

Like no war accounts I have ever read. Unique book.

Holy Blood: An Inside View of the Afghan War

I have spent a few years in Afghanistan and consider myself to be very current and familiar with the Afghan people, customs and history of the country. After reading the book I wish that I had taken the time to read it earlier than I did. Paul has captured the essence of what happened in the past and unfortunately in many parts of the country the current situation is not far removed from the past.
While reading the book I find myself drifting back to the people I have met and places I am familiar with in Afghanistan. He captures the personalities of the people, the gander of the country and connects the dots to better understand why there is such a resistance to change. An excellent insight why local customs and traditions take priority over political ambitions.

I highly recommend this book to any student or history buff who might want to have a better understanding of Afghanistan.

I met Paul in a small hotel in Kabul a few months ago and we spoke for a few minutes. I originally mistook him for an Afghan merchant due to his attire and overall appearance. He has been in the country for some time now gathering material for a new book. I am looking forward to the release of his next book to bring me up to date as to how he sees the current situation in the country.

Much more than just a technical manual of how to setup and operate an account with Clickbank. This book clearly show you how to set and run a successful business based on Clickbank. Also, it is the real deal; it is clear he has successfully used the techniques explained.

The author goes over the toughest part of sales – getting customers interested in the product and then move on to buy your product. He gives you the words to use and the emotional approaches to take.

Worried about setup costs? With a clear open honest approach, he tells you where you should spend money and where it is ok to use the free options available. Also, why it is important to spend your money where you should.

Very clear instructions: Well written in understandable language – covers the jargon so that you feel at ease and in control. I never got lost (like I usually do when dealing with technology) while going through the process.

A good guide to what you can expect at multiple points. How to go step-by-step in getting started, emotional considerations as you go and how much energy and time it will take to monitor and manage your business.

Just in case, he warns you about things like when NOT to ask for a refund – how that can damage your relationship with Clickbank.

Serious help with the do’s and don’ts of building a professional and effective squeeze page. And more importantly, how to use the information you get from your squeeze page! This alone is worth the price of the book.

I've read quite a few "Make Money as a Clickbank Affiliate" books but this book's good!
Darren has assumed the reader of this book is a Clickbank "newbie" and explained the entire gamut: whats Clickbank; how and when you get paid; understanding the Clickbank marketplace; importance of keywords; what products to market; setting up blogs and using social media to market your product; .... and so on.
I highly recommend this book to those desirous of becoming a Clickbank affiliate and making money from it.

I finally found a clickbank book that is not scam…!

I was looking for a book on how to make money with clickbank as a vendor (I want to create my own course) and most of the publications seemed pretty scammy (probably cheaply outsourced) with no real info. I then came across this book, and googled the author, it turned out he is a successful internet marketer and as youtube shows- a real human being. This is why I decided to give this book a shot-even though I was originally more interested in creating my own program rather than affiliate marketing. I read it in one hour and learned a lot, it gave me many useful ideas to monetize my blog. The author also includes his e-mail for FAQ. This is a real book, because trust me- when you browse kindle books from this niche, most of them are scam and spam. I finally found something useful. Very well-written you can also tell that this author is a great copywriter and understand his audience. No fluff. If any reviewer or the author himself can recommend any useful resource for vendors, please comment on this review. Cheers!

I opened this book and from the first page was transported to the New South Wales Hunter Valley in the mid nineteenth century. If you are a lover of horses and have experienced the magic of the Melbourne Cup, this is a world you’ll want to be lost in. This is the story of India Kilhampton - a strong, independent woman who has been given one year to turn the failing family property into a thriving horse stud. Her dream is to breed a Melbourne Cup winner. When she advertises for a horse breeder, and Jim Mawgan presents himself for work, she is faced with the answer to all her dreams and the destruction of everything she knows. The tangled web of intrigue that Mawgan begins to unravel with his presence turns India’s world upside down and sends her heart spinning out of control.

I love that this author’s historical stories are all set in and around where she lives. It brings the books to life. Tea Cooper’s descriptions of the area are so vivid, I find I am no longer a reader holding a book, but I’m walking the property, Helligen, with her, picturing the buildings, smelling the leather and seeing the glossy coats of the horses. Her visceral description of the magnificent thoroughbred, Jefferson, made him linger in my mind long after I closed the book. The author’s secondary characters were powerful and complex, adding humour, mystery and authenticity to the story and balance to the protagonists. And Jim Mawgan was the consummate hero – strong, defiant, loyal but also flawed enough to be believable and, of course, extremely desirable. Loved this book!

Great Read

An intriguing read that had a hornets nest of activity between the Kilhampton/Cobb families set on the Helligen farm. India and Jim carried the story well and the many secondary cast of characters add their dimension to what shaped up to be an enjoyable read, with the evident attraction between India and Jim and the tale surrounding both families. The descriptives of Jefferson were awesome and his part in the story was a highlight :) Jim and India's boundless attraction was oftentimes sweet and portrayed well and formed a perfect picture for this reader. Lots of emotional elements throughout the read that this reader relished. Author Téa Cooper writes such stunning characters in many of her novels and The Horse Thief held its own for a potent read. Strong characters, a stunning backdrop and fabulous story combined for a great read.

A beautiful and interesting story

India wants to bring her family's country home back to its former glory. Helligen Stud used to be so active and vibrant and India misses those days. To make her wish come true she has to show her father she's capable of running the estate and he's given her a deadline. She wants their horses to matter again and to achieve that she plans to win the Melbourne Cup. To be able to do that she needs a capable stable master. When Jim applies for the job it's like a dream come true, India's wishes might be fulfilled. Only Jim is carrying a secret, one that has everything to do with the troubled past of both of their families. When things go horribly wrong will they be able to save the situation and each other?

The Horse Thief is an amazing book about a beautiful home that has a sad history. Even though Jim and India don't know exactly what happened in the past they have to deal with the consequences of the problems between their parents. I loved the theme and the way Tea Cooper handles the secret, giving up a little bit every time. I also really liked the setting, which is amazing. I'm a big fan of books about animals and The Horse Thief doesn't disappoint in that area. The descriptions of the horses are fantastic and I enjoyed reading about their characters.

The romantic part of the story is very good. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen to India. Her sister is a spoiled brat and she tries to make India marry an older man in the city so she can have her lifestyle and status back. This leads to a lot of friction, which I found really interesting. The cover of The Horse Thief is as beautiful as the story. I liked it a lot. It was fun to read about the past, to discover how people used to live back then. The connection between India and Jim is great. There are a lot of spectacular moments and I loved the ending. I highly recommend this wonderful book.

More Sex than I prefer

This book has one very long, graphic sex scene (which I skipped over). I really don't like a lot of sex with a Regency Romance. Throbbing loins and melting insides just don't quite fit the genre started by Jane Austin and perfected by Georgette Heyer! But overall it was otherwise a sweet, feel-good Christmas story. The other quibble I had with the author was that the age of the children and their behavior did not quite jive. Eight and twelve year olds just don't hide in an adult's skirt, suck their thumbs or twirl their hair. Had they been four and six, it would have felt more realistic. No problems with the grammar, spelling or punctuation - which is a plus for an indie book. If you enjoy your romances with a lot of sex and aren't too fussy about a proper Regency feel, then you will probably enjoy the book. Otherwise do as I did and skip over the offending parts and enjoy a cute story.

It was over in a flash!

I loved this book, but it was over in a flash, or so it seemed. That would probably be my only complaint, that there could have been a little more of the 'will they or won't they?'

The Duke of Penrose 'inherits' his best friend's two daughters and their brash,young, American governess, Miss Merry Chambers, who he thinks is incapable of raising his two young wards into proper English women when his friend and his wife are killed in an accident. So he decides to hire a more proper governess.

Years ago, his friend and the duke had both wooed the same woman,but Elinor chose his friend and the duke swore never to marry.

When Miss Merry enters his life, all he can see is a woman who will not accept orders from anyone, including a duke. What his mother,the Dowager Duchess of Penrose sees is a woman who brings out another side to her son, a side she feared was long gone, a more playful less stodgy side.

Her son is determined to hire a new governess to raise his young wards though and Miss Merry's days in the duke's residence seem numbered, so his mother decides to hire her as her companion.

Soon the duke realizes that perhaps his decision to never wed may have been a bit too harsh.

Sparks fly from the start. Merry & David are charming, as is this Christmas tale.

Absolutely Delightful!

Take one arrogant, stiff-necked Duke with an inner, sensitive core, and pair him with a modern-thinking miss who speaks her mind and doesn't kow-tow easily, and you have the backbone of the romance in MISS MERRY'S CHRISTMAS. Once again, Callie Hutton has written a nicely-paced, romantic Regency read, with all the elements Regency fans like best. A prune-faced, cold-as-ice governess who has her eye on being the next Mrs. Duke of Penrose, :) and a Dowager Duchess who knows Merry Chambers would make her son a wonderful wife, are secondary characters who add to the general mix and mayhem of this lovely holiday story.

Bravo, Ms. Hutton!
