About the Author
Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa, PhD, is the Dean of Education at the Universidad de las Américas in Quito, Ecuador. She serves on the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), an expert panel to determine teachers’ new pedagogical knowledge, including the influence of neuroscience and technology on education. With more than 25 years of experience teaching decades in teacher training, she has conducted conferences, workshops, and research in 25 countries around the world.

Just what the field needs!

This book is exactly what the field of education needs to begin merging the fields of neuroscience and education. The book is written in easy-to-understand language and provides a useful framework for brain-friendly teaching. I hope this is the first of many more books that provide practical, research-based guidance for teachers.

An excellent resource

Finally, FINALLY, the book I've wanted to read about education has been written; the text that clearly links the emotions and science of teaching and learning. I've had my copy of the book for less than two weeks and it is already dog-earned and full of annotated post-it notes and scrawled-in margins. 'Mind, Brain and Education Science' is, hands-down, *the most fascinating* textbook I have read during my career in education.
Tokuhama-Espinosa's writing is clear, concise and scholarly, and yet it resonates with a warm, accessible tone. I hope Mind, Brain and Education Science becomes a cornerstone of teacher education in the future and that this text becomes a foundation of that teaching. Our profession needs it.
